1) I think the strong parts of the project are how texture, shades, and tints because my paintings have light and dark values.
2) I could of done a better job creating a better emotion because it's hard to tell what my emotions are.
3) The theme of my cross painting is forgiveness, I did this by showing hands that represend praying and a cross to represent how God forgives us. I picked this because I feel lik forgiveness is important and is a strong emotion.
4) The major hues of my project are violet and blue. I selected these colors because violet is a good color for a flower and it has many shades and tints. I also picked blue because I like the color blue and it shows a sense of sadness. It shows shades and tints in the cross and the hand prints.
5) I used canvas for both of my paintings, I chose these because I thought it would be easiest to use. The materials I used were my fingers and a colored pencils for the edges of the flower. The benefits were you got to be creative and use random things to paint with it. It was fun being able to get messy and put your fingers in the paint. The negatives were not getting clean strokes or making things look neater.
6) What I learned from this project is that you have to come up with creative ideas to make the project happen and in life you have to be creative in certain circumstances to get things done. Not everything in life is handed to you, you have to work at it. I also learned that you have to take time and not get frustrated when you mess up.
7) First I made a canvas, the I used gesto, I then started painting my hands and putting it on the canvas, I didn't really know what I was painting I just kind of went for it. I then started to paint a cross and just used my fingers. For my other painting I started to make a flower, I then started added tints and shades to the flower. I later painted to background and blended it.
8) I like this project a lot because it is fun to use your fingers and having to figure out what to do with it. I think it would be a good idea to either not use a brush and pick many different colors or use a brush and have a monocromatic painting. I liked that we were able to use whatever we wanted for materials.
